Like all United Methodist Churches, St. Matthew's has a Safe Sanctuary Policy to promote the safety and well-being of children and youth participating in church-sponsored activities and events. As Christians, we are called to create churches that are holy, safe, and protective communities for all of God's children, regardless of age or ability.
We care about the spiritual, physical and emotional well-being for all persons of all ages. Having a written policy in place helps empower those who serve with the tools needed proactively keep children and youth safe, communicate effectively and seek out support and guidance when needed. We pledge to conduct the ministry of the Gospel in ways that ensure the safety, well-being, and spiritual growth of all children, youth, and vulnerable adults, as well as those who serve alongside them.
